I am currently studying chemical engineering with a view to one day working in the renewable energy industry with teams of people working on exciting and innovative projects helping make a better more sustainable future generation. The course provides plenty of hard, rewarding challenges and gives me the opportunity to study new, unexplored areas of maths and science.
I am a keen and thorough independent learner, fully applying myself to what I aim to achieve. Having completed the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze through to Gold award at school I have gained valuable experience and skills in what it takes to be a good team member and also play the role of team leader. Being used to juggling my studies constantly with things like extra curricular activities and sport gives me well practiced organisational attributes and time management abilities.
Outside of my studies I love to take part in a lot of sport from more social things like table tennis to extreme sports such as downhill mountain biking and skydiving. Triathlon, being my main passion, is something that I have taken up in the past two years. The hard work, dedication and the physical and mental endurance this sport requires is what attracted me to it in the first place.
Travelling is a great passion of mine. Seeing new places and experiencing fresh cultures is always enriching in a way.
To further my travelling experiences I am currently taking German language as an extension to my chemical engineering degree. I hope to one day travel to Germany to partake in engineering related internships to gain valuable work experience.
I am a confident, polite and easy to get on with individual who values hard work and enthusiasm in every aspect of life. |
